Background to our business

Harvey World Travel is one of the largest travel retail agencies in Southern Africa. Since its inception from 1997 in South Africa it has expanded into Botswana, Swaziland and Namibia. The network now has over 94 retail offices throughout Southern Africa.

Harvey World Travel Southern Africa is a joint venture between Bidtravel (part of Bidvest) and Stella Group based in Australia. Harvey World Travel is one of the most established and successful global travel groups with over 500 franchised offices throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Southern Africa.

Harvey World Travel Florida Road has a 40% BEE shareholding based in Johannesburg, XL Nexus Travel Saxonwold, is a black-owned and managed travel agency. Since its opening in March 2000, HWT Florida Road has grown in leaps and bounds, and is today the largest agency within the Harvey stable in KwaZulu Natal. We are based in the Morningside area of Durban.

Our business has grown since its inception to its current complement of 13 professional and support staff, and continues to strive with one objective, “service excellence”. Our team of skilled and trained staff are dedicated to understanding and satisfying our client’s travel needs.
We currently service in excess of 150 corporate clients and numerous leisure clients. We are the recipients of numerous awards, including being one of the top-10 travel agencies in the Harvey Southern Africa family.

 

Our Current Broad Based BEE status

This accreditation has been certified by PKF BEE Solutions in accordance with the Department of Trade and Industry’s Codes of Good Practice, as gazetted in February 2007.

Their rating confirms a BBBEE status for Harvey World Travel Florida Road as being that of a Level 4 contributor, and confirms a recognition level of 100%.
